What to Bring
PLEASE DON'T FORGET YOUR SIGNED RELEASE FORM!!!

Day rides require boots or shoes with a heel, a warm jacket and rain gear.  Drinking water, camera, bug spray, sunscreen are also recommended.  We have water bottle holders on the saddles but the rest is best packed in a fanny pack.  We will tie on your jacket and rain gear.  Helmets for under 18 years are required and suggested for 18 and up.  Don't forget your release form found on the web site.   If using a non-approved riding helmet (ASTM approval is what we need), then you must sign our "HELMET WAIVER".

Pack light (20-lbs in a duffel type bag) for an overnight. One change of clothes is plenty for an overnight. Bring a warm winter weight jacket as it can get cold at night in the high country.  Hard soled shoes or boots with a heel are required by our insurance company. Protective helmets are also required for minors and suggested for adults. If using a non-approved riding helmet (ASTM approval is what we need), then you must sign our "HELMET WAIVER".

A warm jacket, hat, gloves and sweater or polar fleece for the cool mountain evenings are also important.  These are recommended for fall rides as the mornings can be quite crisp.  Dress in a layered effect:  tanktop, longsleeved shirt, sweater, polar fleece or vest and a jacket.  Our weather is generally warm and sunny but rain gear is necessary.....just in case.  The rain gear and jacket will be tied to the back of your saddle.  Bug repellent, sun screen, flashlight, personal toiletries and a camera should complete your list.

If you are going on an overnightin the back country, an inflatable pad makes your sleeping more comfortable.  We have dome sleeping tents but you are also welcome to bring your own.  You don't have to bring a bunch of stuff, just the right stuff.

If you are on a mini overnight or a fall overnight you will be staying at our base camp in tent cabins on bunkbeds with mattresses.  Bring your everything you need to be as comfortable as you can including your sleeping bag, pillow and an extra blanket or polar fleece wrap for those extra cool nights.  Flashlights or a lantern are great for your tent.  We have no electricity and cell phones have no signal.  Part of the beauty of your get away.

The crew at High Country Outfitters are all looking forward to showing you a great time.  Let us know if there are any dietary restrictions.  We are happy to work with you.
